Service. Solutions. Actions.

Hello, I’m Jason Winston, and I’m running to be your representative on Atlanta City Council, District 1.

My wife, Shalya, baby girl Banks Harlow and I proudly call Grant Park of Atlanta’s District 1 home.

I am a native Georgian who is running for Atlanta City Council to continue my work to make our community a safer, more secure and more equitable place to live. I believe that by working together, we can create greater opportunity and a brighter future for everyone.

I learned the importance of giving back to the community at an early age from my parents, who were both engaged in public service. That’s why I am fully committed and involved in helping others in District 1.

From Boulevard Heights to Grant Park, I have deep roots in our community. My track record of servant leadership goes back for years. In 2007, I began volunteering at the Warren Boys & Girls Club, where I still coach youth sports. I’m known as ‘Coach Jason’ in the community and on the field.

In 2015, I joined the Grant Park Conservancy Board and co-chaired the Grant Park Summer Shade Festival, Grant Park’s largest fundraiser. Most recently, I served as Co-Chair of the Grant Park Conservancy Board of Directors and was appointed to the Park Pride Visioning Committee for Grant Park. The committee was composed of local community leaders charged with reimagining and developing a master plan for Grant Park’s southeast quadrant and its connectivity to the Atlanta Beltline.

In addition to my commitment to public service, I will bring expertise in business, finance and marketing to our local government. I received a business degree from Georgia State University, majoring in finance and marketing, and later earned a Master’s in Marketing from GSU’s Robinson College of Business.

I currently own a marketing consulting business, and have been an instructor at Georgia State University since 2017, where I teach social media marketing to undergraduate business students.

Between now and Election Day on November 2, 2021, I hope to have the opportunity to meet you, hear your ideas for our community and share more about my vision for a stronger, safer, more vibrant Atlanta, where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
